Yvonne Riaño

Yvonne Riaño is Professor of Urban Geography at the Institute of Geography of the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland) and Project Co-Leader at the Swiss National Centre of Competence in Migration Research "On the move", also located at the University of Neuchâtel. Yvonne Riaño obtained her PhD in Geography in 1996 from the University of Ottawa (Canada), and has since taught at the Universities of Bern (Switzerland), Graz (Austria) and Neuchâtel (Switzerland). Yvonne Riaño specialises in Geographies of Inequality from a feminist perspective. She has contributed to understanding informal settlements in Latin American cities, highly skilled migration from a gender perspective, and developed a novel participatory MINGA method to co-produce knowledge with migrants.
